RJ ShermanI started shooting photography 6 years ago and initially I was just interested in shooting night scenes.  Nothing was better than capturing a long exposure of the stars spinning in the sky above or the light streaks from cars zipping below on a highway.

After shooting just outdoors for the first year I decided to branch out and setup a makeshift studio in my house.  The usual: some hot lights, a couple back drops, nothing too extravagant, but it worked and my subjects thoroughly enjoyed the end results: their photos.

My passion today lives in my studio work.  While a great night shot or landscape is beautiful to look at hanging on the wall, I strive to capture personality, attitude and expression through photographing others.

In my opinion the best photographs are the ones composed both my subjects character coupled with my artistic vision.
